Quepos & Manuel Antonio · Costa Rica

Give the park its own day

A visit to Manuel Antonio works best when the park is the anchor of the day. Confirm entry first, then build the journey and any meal stops around it. Trying to add every beach along the coast can turn a walk in the forest into a race against a reservation.

Find your bearings

Quepos and Manuel Antonio lie southeast along the coastal route from Parrita. Quepos town, the Manuel Antonio area and the national park entrance are different destinations; save the exact one you need.

Reserve through the official channel

Use SINAC’s current information to check admission, opening days and visitor rules. Keep the booking confirmation available offline and follow the document requirements stated on it. A parking offer or a tour reservation should not be mistaken for park admission unless the arrangement explicitly includes it.

Choose the right kind of beach day

A public beach visit outside the park and a visit to beaches inside the protected area have different access conditions. Decide which experience you want before setting out. Our Manuel Antonio surf report supplies regional ocean context; it is not a park ticket, a bathing advisory or permission to surf within protected areas.

Leave room for the return

If you also want time in Quepos, put it into the plan explicitly rather than treating it as an automatic extra. Carry what the park currently permits, respect wildlife and keep food away from animals. Leave the last part of the day flexible enough to handle rain, tired walkers or a slower drive.
