Playa Bejuco · Costa Rica
Leave space for a beach walk
Bejuco works well as a deliberate pause in a coastal journey. Choose a stretch of sand, decide how far to walk before turning back and resist adding another destination just because it appears close on the map. A beach day needs room for heat, rain and the pace of the slowest walker.
Find your bearings
This is Playa Bejuco in Parrita, Puntarenas, along the coast beyond Esterillos Este. Include Parrita in your map search to avoid other Costa Rican places with the same name.
Arrive with a complete little plan
Save the exact entrance and check where you may park. Carry drinking water, sun protection and what you need for the return rather than assuming every service will be beside your chosen access. If you are meeting friends, share the entrance pin instead of only the beach name.
Walk with the water in view
Bejuco faces the open Pacific. Keep your walking route away from the reach of waves and turn back before any estuary or channel blocks the way. A broad beach can change character as the tide rises. Plan a shorter outing if someone in the group finds soft sand or heat difficult.
A surf stop needs its own assessment
For surfers, the Bejuco report is a useful comparison with Esterillos and Hermosa. It is not a measurement of the exact wave breaking in front of you. Watch the peak, ask about currents and choose a session only if it fits your ability and the support available that day.
